Describe a time you bought something from a street (or outdoor) market.
You should say:
- When it is
- Where the market was
- What you bought
- And how you felt about it
I’m going to tell you about an occasion when I bought clothes from a bustling street market.
When I was studying at university, I made a trip to Da Nang, a city that boasts many colorful night markets. I wandered aimlessly around a street market that was mainly made up of vendors selling under a line of tents. There were hundreds of stalls, and each of them had an eye-catching display of jewelry, crafts, or souvenirs. The range of items on sale was varied and seemed to go on and on. Food sellers, shoppers, and diners mingled together in the night air, enjoying the infectious energy that abounded in the market. This night market was not only a place for shopping but also for tourists to immerse themselves in the exciting atmosphere.
I saw a stall selling various types of jackets, and I had wanted to buy a new one because my old one was shabby. So I made up my mind to purchase a blue one made of cotton and made by a Vietnamese company. It’s easy to mix & match with many items in my wardrobe. Besides protecting my skin from the sun and dust, it’s also great for wearing in cold weather. Despite its low cost, my jacket is still good-quality. I have worn the jacket for many years, and it still looks brand-new.
It is much more important to me than other souvenirs I have purchased. The main reason is that it has a very strong sentimental value to me. You know, whenever I wear the jacket, it reminds me of the time when I shopped at the vibrant street market.
