Describe a natural talent you want to improve.
You should say:
- What it is
- When you discovered it
- How you want to improve it
- And explain how you feel about it
Well, one natural talent I want to cultivate is painting. I have always had a soft spot for fine arts since I was a child, and I’ve been encouraged by my parents and my teacher to enjoy painting.
The first time I recognized my ability to paint was when I studied at primary school, where I did a lot of watercolor paintings. My teacher perceived my natural talent for painting and she encouraged me to paint every day. Since then, I’ve acquired a taste for painting and have become immersed in it. It is regrettable that after getting into university, I was so overloaded with work, I didn’t have a chance to refine my painting skills. However, I have a passion for painting and really want to hone my skills.
I’m trying my utmost to attend some extra art classes on the weekend at a local club to improve my talent. I think the fascinating lectures of these classes can further fire my enthusiasm for painting. In addition, I will take trips to art museums and examine the works of the acknowledged masters. Observing and taking note of how the masters approached their brushwork can give me new ideas as well as new approaches to aspects of painting that I’m struggling with.
Sharpening my painting skills can stimulate and foster my creative growth. Apart from that, it can promote my critical thinking. You know, choosing which brush to use or which paints to mix to create the exact color I need makes me a more decisive person. These types of decisions promote my problem-solving skills and teach me to develop innovative techniques to approach new situations.
